Motivating Ambition

Which came first, motivation or ambition? I’m kicking off what seems to be a rather ambitious project. I have been contemplating the line between photography for a purpose and photography as art for a while. Of course, art can serve a purpose, but it seems that photography is often perceived as something other than art when the photo is not captured specifically for art.

I need to keep mum about the project for the moment, pending research into a small handful of logistical considerations. I’ve just entered the research phase. Next up will be the testing phase to work out exactly how I will realize what I have conjured up in my mind. It seems conceptually sound, but I won’t know for sure how it will play out until I can touch and feel the idea.
